Queensland Government - Department of Communities Department of Communities is proactively working towards helping Queenslanders become more active. As the lead agency responsible for implementing the Queensland Government's sport and recreation policies, we work with sporting organisations, councils, schools, Indigenous organisations and the wider community to increase participation, develop better skills in the industry and create better places and opportunities for sport and recreation.

Queensland Academy of Sport The Queensland Academy of Sport is the breeding ground for producing the sporting champions of today and tomorrow. Supporting more than 600 athletes across 21 different sports and through individual scholarships, the Academy provides its athletes with access to world-class sporting facilities, coaching and support services.
