QAS kids are special

At the recent 2010 National Elite Juniors Championships in Perth three QAS athletes were selected in the Australian Team to compete at the 2010 FINA World Junior Championships.

Girls B Group (14-15 yrs) – Brittany Broben 1 metre and 10 metre events

Girls B Group (14-15 yrs) – Ashley de Muelenaere 3 metre event

Boys B Group (14-15 yrs) – Matthew Barnard 1 metre, 3 metre and 10 metre events.

Matthew Barnard and Brittany Broben were also selected in the 2010 Diving Australia National Junior Squad

In addition the QAS Diving Squad won a total of 10 medals at the Championships:

                Boys A Group (16-18 yrs) – Marcus Gangell, Silver in both 3m and 10m events

                Boys B Group (14-15 yrs) – Matthew Barnard, Gold in 10m and Silver in both 1m and 3m events

                Girls B Group (14-15 yrs) – Brittany Broben, Gold in both 1m and 10m and Bronze in 3m events

                Girls B Group (14-15 yrs) – Ashley de Muelenaere, Gold in 3m event

                Girls B Group (14-15 yrs) – Taneka Kovchenko, Bronze in 10m event

                *Squad member Gemma Allinson was injured and unable to compete
