Outcomes of Annual General Meeting / 2025 Annual Report

Published Sat 25 Apr 2026

On Wednesday, 22 April, the Queensland Diving Association Incorporated (Diving Queensland) held its Annual General Meeting.

Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting, both in person and online. Whilst AGMs are largely procedural affairs, the AGM is an opportunity for each of our Affiliate Members (our clubs) to formally ask questions of, and raise business with, the management committee of the association.

The AGM also served as the official opportunity to present the 2025 Annual Report, and our 2026-2031 Diving Infrastructure Strategy (now available to download on the DQ website) and make decisions that require the approval of our clubs per the constitution.

Finally, we thanked Danielle Spiccia for her service to Diving in Queensland following her decision to retire from the board at the AGM. Danielle has been a management committee member of Diving Queensland for the past four years. Most of that time was spent serving as Vice-President, with approximately 4 months as President in early 2023. As a parent in the sport for 10+ years, Danielle's strong institutional knowledge was one of the most valuable assets in our board discussions, one that will be sorely missed.

Outcomes of the AGM:

  • Election of board members
There were two elected board positions for consideration at this AGM. As there were only two nominations recieved, no ballot was required. Congratulations to Isaac Coonan, and Paul Woods who have been reelected to serve another two year term on the board. One appointed position remains available for the board to fill as necessary.

  • Endorsement of appointment of Patron
Our affiliate members (clubs) were asked to endorse the decision of the management committee to appoint Juliet Alabaster as Patron of the association. This motion passed unanamously.
