Queensland Divers at the World Aquatic Championships

Published Mon 17 Jul 2023

All eyes are on Fukuoka at the moment with the World Aquatics Championships currently underway. The multisport Aquatics Championships combines the 2023 World Championships for Swimming, Open Water Swimming, Artistic Swimming, Water Polo, Diving and High Diving with events running from 14th to 30th July.

With Diving events already having commenced, the Australian Team's campaign is in full swing. Four Queensland athletes will compete in Japan, trading maroon for green & gold in their quest to secure Olympic Quota positions for Team Australia ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Domonic Bedggood, Cassiel Rousseau and Georgia Sheehan will soon be joined by Xantheia Pennisi (High Diving) to round out the Queensland representation at these Championships.

Georgia has already claimed an impressive 9th place finish in the Women's 1 metre event and we look forward to seeing her and the rest of the team build on this success as events continue.

From all of us at Diving Queensland we'd like to wish all athletes, coaches and support staff over in Japan, the very best of luck. Go Team!
